Whispering Woods of Coral Springs Homeowners Association, Inc. Committee Code of Conduct
Purpose
Committees serve in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors. This Code of Conduct establishes expectations for professionalism, confidentiality, and respectful collaboration in support of the Association’s mission.
1. Advisory Role
• Committees are advisory in nature unless specific authority has been formally delegated by the Board of Directors.
• Committees do not independently bind the Association.
• Final decisions remain with the Board of Directors.
2. Professional Conduct
Committee members agree to:
• Act in the best interest of the entire community
• Conduct themselves respectfully and professionally
• Avoid personal attacks, hostility, or disruptive behavior
• Engage in thoughtful, solution-oriented discussions
• Support orderly and productive meetings
Disagreements should remain respectful and focused on policy or process — not individuals.
3. Confidentiality
Committee members may have access to sensitive information, including:
• Architectural applications
• Enforcement matters
• Financial information
• Legal discussions
Members agree to:
• Maintain confidentiality where appropriate
• Not disclose private homeowner information
• Not share internal discussions outside official channels
Confidential information must not be discussed on social media or with non-members.
4. Conflict of Interest
Committee members must:
• Disclose any personal interest in a matter under review
• Recuse themselves from discussions where impartiality could reasonably be questioned
• Avoid using committee service for personal benefit
5. Communication Protocol
• Committee communication shall occur through official Association channels.
• Members shall not represent themselves as speaking on behalf of the Board unless authorized.
• Public statements regarding Association matters must be coordinated with the Board.
6. Attendance & Participation
Members are expected to:
• Attend meetings regularly
• Review materials in advance
• Participate constructively
Repeated non-participation may result in review of committee appointment.
7. Social Media & Public Commentary
Committee members shall:
• Avoid discussing internal committee matters publicly
• Avoid posting confidential or misleading information
• Refrain from making statements that could be interpreted as official Board positions
8. Removal
Committee members serve at the pleasure of the Board of Directors. The Board reserves the right to remove or replace committee members at its discretion.
